The Dragino MR-XX-NB/NS is an advanced NB-IoT Microwave Radar Distance Sensor designed for Internet of Things (IoT) applications requiring stable and accurate distance measurement. Utilizing 80 GHz microwave radar technology, it measures the distance between the sensor and surrounding objects with high precision. Compared to ultrasonic or LiDAR sensing, microwave radar offers superior reliability in moist, dusty, or condensation-prone environments, maintaining accurate readings even when water or heavy dust accumulates on the sensor surface.

The MR-XX-NB/NS is suitable for a wide range of use cases, including:

  • Horizontal distance measurement

  • Smart parking and vehicle detection

  • Proximity and presence monitoring

  • Intelligent waste bin management

  • Autonomous robot obstacle avoidance

  • Automated control systems

  • Sewer and harsh-environment sensing

For ease of deployment, the device supports BLE configuration and wireless OTA firmware updates, simplifying setup and maintenance.

The MR-XX-NB/NS also provides flexible connectivity, supporting multiple uplink protocols such as TCP, MQTT, UDP, MQTTS, and CoAP, enabling integration with various IoT platforms and server architectures.

Powered by an 8500 mAh Li-SOCl₂ battery or an optional solar panel with Li-ion backup, the sensor is engineered for multi-year, long-term operation, even in remote installations.
